Families of three missing British mothers say they are not receiving any help from police regarding the disappearance of the women.
There are growing fears that the three Bradford women and their nine children have traveled to Syria to join foreign-backed insurgent groups fighting against the Syrian government.
They have gone missing following a pilgrimage to Saudi Arabia.
Their relatives say they have to investigate the disappearance of the women and their nine children on their own, as they have received no answers form police since reporting the 12 missing on June 11.
“They [the fathers] have grave concerns because the matter was reported on the 11th [of June]. Obviously today we’re on the 16th and we’ve had no answers. Unfortunately the information that we have about them travelling to Medina [in Saudi Arabia] were all done by family members. In fact, everything they’ve done is all off their own backs and it’s quite sad really.”
“We’ve been informed that there’s only one [police] officer [in Turkey] so what West Yorkshire police have to do is contact the Met police, who then contact the officer in Turkey, who I’m told is inundated with loads of inquiries and we were told that the officer doesn’t have enough time,” Balaal Khan, who is representing the husbands of the Dawood sisters, was quoted as saying by the Guardian.
UK police has already been under fire for inaction in preventing young Britons from joining terrorist groups in Syria and Iraq, with hundreds of young Britons already having joined the ISIL terrorist group.
Back in February, three British schoolgirls traveled to Syria to join Takfiri terrorists.
Shamima Begum, 15, Kadiza Sultana, 16, and Amira Abase, 15, boarded a flight from London Gatwick airport to Turkey on February 17 crossed the border into an ISIL-controlled region in Syria.
Deputy Assistant Commissioner Helen Ball, the Metropolitan Police’s National Coordinator Counter Terrorism coordinator has said that at least 60 British females, including 18 teenage girls, have traveled to Syria to join ISIL.
