A Yemeni negotiator participating in the UN-brokered consultations on Yemen in Switzerland says the talks can help resolve the conflict in the Arab country, Press TV reports.
“Negotiations and discussions are always important in any sort of conflict, especially… in wars,” Faeghah al-Seyed, the representative of the General People’s Congress (GPC) in the talks, told Press TV’s correspondent in Geneva.
“We always call for the war to stop, we always call for negotiations and we want to stick to these negotiations and talks because we understand that this will diminish all the pains and sufferings for our people,” she added.
In response to a question about the party’s willingness to talk with the supporters of Yemen’s fugitive former President Abd Rabbuh Mansour Hadi, Seyed said the party is open to sitting with any other party that has the free will to express its opinion and is committed to the Yemenis and the country.

Expressing her party’s enthusiasm for the talks to yield results, she said, “We are welcoming any group, any political faction [that] we can discuss things with face-to-face and we want to sit with all the political groups like us.”
She also confirmed remarks by UN special envoy for Yemen Ismail Ould Cheikh Ahmed that all Yemeni groups support UN Resolution 2216.
She said, however, that the general guidelines of implementing the decision have to be discussed.

The Saudi military campaign against Yemen started on March 26.
Representatives from several Yemeni factions, including the Ansarullah movement, are attending UN-brokered talks in the Swiss city of Geneva over the conflict in the Arab country.
