Members of the Takfiri ISIL terrorist group have raped seven women in Iraq’s western city of Fallujah, and then executed them.

A spokeswoman for the Iraqi Observatory for the Defense of Battered Women, Hana Nawafili, told Arabic-language al-Maalomah news agency on Saturday that ISIL terrorists gang-raped the seven female residents of the city, located about 69 kilometers (43 miles) west of the capital, Baghdad, the previous day, and then murdered them.

Nawafili added that the crime adds to the pool of atrocities that ISIL militants have committed against Mosul locals ever since the northern Iraqi city was overrun by the Takfiris on June 10, 2014.

She also urged the international community to adopt promising measures aimed at stopping the abuses being practiced by ISIL terrorists.

The report came a day after Iraqi security and medical officials, speaking on condition of anonymity, confirmed that ISIL terrorists had executed an Iraqi journalist and cameraman after accusing him of espionage and collaboration with Iraqi government forces.

Slain Iraqi journalist and cameraman Jala al-Abadi

The officials said the Takfiris killed 27-year-old Jala al-Abadi on July 15. Abadi had been held in captivity for 41 days after being kidnapped from his home on June 4.

A father of two, he had left Mosul back in June 2014 but returned to the city earlier this year. He was kidnapped before he could leave again and was charged by ISIL with "leaking information" about the terrorist group to the national press.

Abadi was apparently the 15th journalist from Mosul to have been executed by the ISIL militants.

ISIL started its campaign of terror in Iraq in early June last year. The heavily armed militants took control of Mosul before sweeping through parts of the country’s heartland.
