Rival politicians from rival left-wing parties have asked to vote in Labour leadership election.

As Labour party is preparing for its leadership election slated for next week, more than 250 politicians from rival left-wing parties have sought to receive the status of a registered supporter to vote.

Former candidates and members of Green party, Trade Union and Left Unity have applied to be given a ballot paper in return for paying £3 in Labour leadership election.

The issue has raised concerns among Labour officials about the integrity of the election. They are also surprised that so many Green candidates have abounded their party maintaining that it could be a tactic adopted by smaller parties to change the direction of a larger one.

In return, Labour officials have stressed that simply gaining the status of a registered supporter doesn't mean gaining a ballot paper.

Earlier, Green party announced that it had made no effort to influence Labour leadership election at all. Meanwhile, Left Unity said Labour officials should have been thrilled by the joining of new members.
