Iranians remember 13th of Aban

For Iranians 13th of Aban in the Persian calendar is a significant day. It is remembered each year for several historical events. On this day in 1964, the former Pahlavi regime sent into exile Ayatollah Khomeini who later founded the Islamic Republic in 1979. Ayatollah Khomeini had criticized the Capitulation Law which gave immunity to US soldiers in Iran.
