US-Israeli Gaza genocide
Israeli forces kill more Palestinian civilians in the Gaza Strip, as the regime’s genocidal war continues unabated across the besieged territory. One of the regime’s latest attacks hit two displaced persons' tents west of Gaza City, killing nine civilians. Four others were killed after a tent for displaced people was struck west of Gaza City. Another airstrike on Gaza City destroyed two homes, causing multiple deaths and injuries. In central Gaza, five citizens were killed in the Nuseirat refugee camp, including three members of the same family. Two other Palestinians were killed in a drone strike on a tent in the al-Qadisiyah refugee camp, west of Khan Yunis, in southern Gaza. Six more Palestinians were killed in airstrikes on the southern parts of the city. Israeli forces killed more than 30 aid seekers on Sunday, increasing the total toll to over 2,400. Five more Palestinians, including three children, died due to malnutrition, raising the toll from the regime’s starvation policy to 387, including 138 children. The death toll from the regime’s genocide is near 64,370, with more than 162,770 others injured.
Humanitarian crisis in Gaza
The UN Children’s Fund has raised the alarm about the escalating risk of famine in Gaza City, describing the overall situation in the besieged territory as “catastrophic.” UNICEF spokesperson, Tess Ingram, said the risk of famine in Gaza City remains critical, with many families now unable to feed their children. She emphasized that Gaza’s residents, particularly in the eastern and northern neighborhoods, continue to endure relentless Israeli bombardment. Ingram also warned about troubling rise in the number of children suffering from fractures, burns, and other injuries linked to recent airstrikes. She confirmed that more than 110 children have died from malnutrition, nearly half of them in this year alone. Ingram warned that famine could extend to the central Gaza Strip within weeks unless immediate action is taken. She described the situation in Gaza as “man-made” and avoidable, adding that hundreds of aid trucks must enter the territory daily to meet basic needs of its population.
Gaza ceasefire efforts
Hamas says it has received some new ideas from the American side through mediators on how to reach a ceasefire in Gaza. The movement said it welcomes any step that helps the efforts made to stop the Israeli aggression. Hamas also reiterated its readiness to immediately sit at the negotiating table to discuss the release of all prisoners in exchange for a permanent end to the war. The movement stressed that any agreement should also include a complete withdrawal of Israeli forces from Gaza, and the formation of an independent Palestinian committee to run the territory. Hamas added that Israel must also give guarantees that it would commit to what will be agreed upon, in order to prevent repetition of experiences. The movement noted that it remains in constant contact with mediators to develop these ideas into a comprehensive agreement that would meet the demands of the Palestinian people.
