Foreign-sponsored Takfiri terrorists have ambushed a minibus carrying servicemen from the Islamic Republic of Iran Army's Ground Forces in Iran’s southeastern province of Sistan and Baluchestan, killing one soldier and injuring several others.

The Public Relations Department of the 88th Armored Division of the Iranian Army announced in a brief statement on Thursday that the attack was carried out on a desert road near Nikshahr Country as Iranian army forces deployed to a camp on the Makran coastline were heading to their position.

The statement added that an Iranian soldier, identified as Mohammad Reza Okati, lost his life in the terrorist attack while three others sustained injuries.

Meanwhile, a patrol from the Nosratabad special police unit came under a terrorist attack while carrying out a security mission along the Lakshak–Zahedan route. During the attack, Vahid Enayat, a member of the law enforcement forces, was killed while on duty.

The Nasrabad unit responded to the attack, injuring several of the assailants, who fled the scene. The attackers have been identified, and law enforcement units in the area are conducting operations to locate their hideout and arrest those responsible.

These attacks came hours after unidentified assailants launched an attack on the headquarters of the Police Command of the Islamic Republic of Iran in Golshan County of the same Iranian province.

The gunmen reportedly used rocket-propelled grenades (RPGs) alongside light and semi-heavy weaponry during the attack.

Iranian security forces finally managed to repel the militant attack, killing one terrorist and injuring a number more in the process.

Earlier on Wednesday, Iranian police forces dealt a painful blow to foreign-backed terrorists at the Jalaq area of Saravan County in Sistan and Baluchestan province, forcing them to retreat.

The terrorists initially detonated a roadside bomb before engaging in a fierce exchange of gunfire with Iranian policemen.

The police servicemen held their ground in the face of the bitter clash and made the attackers flee the scene after inflicting casualties upon them.

Sistan and Baluchestan Province, which borders Pakistan and Afghanistan, has witnessed several terrorist attacks targeting civilians and security forces in recent years.

Terrorist groups carrying out attacks against Iranian interests in the southeastern and southwestern parts of the country have been reported to have links to some repressive regimes in the Persian Gulf region.

Iranian security forces have maintained a high level of vigilance along the border areas, thwarting numerous terrorist plots by foreign-backed elements across the country.
